B759GCN started life as a Dennis SS water tender before conversion to a boat transporter for the 'Tinea' fire boat. This combination was stationed at the Fossway fire station in the East End of Newcastle, and left Brigade ownership on the 1st. Decmeber 2006.  The boat was invariably launched into the Tyne at Spillers Quay. A TL is required to lift the boat from the transporter and then lower it into the river. The call sign for the transporter (and its replacement) is F08 whilst that for the boat is F09.

The boat is constructed from aluminium and is fitted with twin Honda 50HP outboards with power tilt. The inside of the hull has access ports so that the river water can be fed directly into an onboard portable pump. The deliveries can be connected either to the roof mounted monitor or to delivery hose to feed on shore pumps. Other equipment on 'Tinea' include a marine ship to shore radio, a main Brigade radio scheme Storno 6000, and a multifunction depth sounder.

Eddie Gentles of www.blues-twos.com kindly provided the above picture of the Dublin Dennis Fire boat transporter. This machine has an integral HIAB type crane at the rear so that the boat may be launched without the need of a TL.
